What do you hear when a West Point graduate and a former Navy Commander converse? Surprise! Not military rigor or “war” stories but metaphysical understanding of self and soul in relation to the universe. In early November, Alec Zeck interviewed Suzanne Giesemann to uncover tenets of her “The Awakened Way” teaching while interjecting his own discoveries leading to his “The Way Forward.” Both admitted that during military service they had little interest in religion and certainly no belief in an afterlife. Personal experiences, however, changed the trajectories of their thoughts. Suzanne evolved when searching for a connection to her stepdaughter after she was struck and killed by lightning when six months pregnant. Alec did not share his story during the interview.
Giesemann’s website describes her as “a spiritual teacher recognized on Watkins’ list of the 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People. Others on the list include Pope Francis and the Dalai Lama. She was recently honored with the prestigious 2024 Humanity’s Team Spiritual Leadership Award, which has only been given 11 times since 2006. Past recipients of this award include Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Nelson Mandela (posthumously).”
Giesemann’s team of guides, Sanaya, has channeled through her that we are not only human, that we are part of one big universal web, and that love is the creative force in the universe. Those who would control us use fear, a human emotion, to give us the misperception that we are all separate. Giesemann has elsewhere used the image of a disco ball. Tiny pieces of mirror encircle a ball. If one piece of the mirror falls off, it distorts the image of the whole. The ball, the universe, needs each facet just as the universe needs each soul to co-create life. Everyone’s souls need to unite in love, not fear, for the greater good.
As Giesemann and Zeck assert, we’re not supposed to be happy all the time. We will have grief and distress, but becoming centered in our universal soul will help turn us to love. “We are human with an emptiness that can’t be filled searching for a fullness that can’t be contained.”
The way to discover our Spirit is to educate ourselves about life beyond the physical by reading, to experience meditation and other spiritual practices, and to engage the higher self by asking why we come to earth. We will quickly find out that it is for the experience of it, for the “fullness” of living as a human that one cannot achieve on the Other Side.
YouTube also offers other interviews of Giesemann—Alex Ferrari’s Next Level Soul, Buddha at the Gas Pump, Michael Sandler’s Inspire Nation, Danny Morel’s The Higher Self, Life with Ghosts, Lisa Garr’s The Aware Show, Bridgitte Jackson-Buckley’s Beyond Talking Points, Humanity’s Team. And Giesemann herself has interviewed many guests on her own podcast, Messages of Hope.
