About

Lynda Adamson, PhD, has varied interests and experiences. She volunteers as a tour guide with the Kennedy Center and as an usher with both Shakespeare Theater and Ford’s Theater in Washington. She appreciates musical theater (especially Stephen Sondheim), opera, and good plays. As a former English professor, she has taught writing, American Literature, World Literature, Children’s Literature and written reference books in these disciplines. She travels as often as possible, having visited Europe many times as well as Australia, New Zealand, China, and South America, where she has enjoyed museums, archeological sites, cultures, and sheer natural beauty. Gourmet cooking and eating are also high on her list of favorite activities. She sings soprano with the Choral Arts Society of Washington, a symphonic chorus that performs regularly at the Kennedy Center. Her singing introduced her to Hildegard when her then choir sang one of Hildegard’s 12th century compositions for a concert. Its mystical beauty captured her and led her to research Hildegard’s amazing life and repeated visits to Bingen, Germany, where Hildegard started her own convent.
